Dade Marhaendra or better known as DJ Dade grew up surrounded by house music. It was the time of electronic music, underground movement, rave party scene, going to the legendary underground clubs in Jakarta such as B1, Parkit, and Bengkel Night Park watching his elder brother DJ Romy and DJ Anton, both Indonesian top notch DJs got him interested in the music industry. His other influences are Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, Steve Lawler, and Danny Tenaglia, with the variety of different sounds, Dade creates a unique sound of quality of house music.

Age 19, Dade joined 1945 Music Factory and his career started by playing in small clubs in Jakarta (his hometown) then as he evolved and his music developed, he began playing in major clubs. His talent, skill, and ability to interact with the crowd through his mix of dance grooves landed him having semi-residency at Centro the Club (which was still managed by Centro the Club Singapore) in 2003-2005 which was his real breaking point. He also performed in major clubs and rave parties across Indonesia, such as The Valley, Aquasonic I and II, Destination One, God’s Kitchen, Jakarta Movement, Indodance Music Festival, and many more.
Dade was the opening act for Tiesto in Jakarta, where he played in front of 26.000 enthusiastic crowd. He has shared decks with some of the best international DJs, such as Funkagenda, Solar Stone, Tall Paul, DJ Garth, King Unique, Paul Thomas, Lee Cabrera, Jean Claude Ades, Tony Thomas, Flash Brothers, Peace Division, Circulation, Lisa Loud, DJ Lethal.

Dade made an album compilation “The Dance Journey” and was released by FHM magazine (Indonesia), the album consisted of local tracks by DJ Romy, DJ Winky, and the track “The Art of Silence” was produced by Dade and DJ Romy, also tracks from other international artists. After the success of the album, Dade went on tour to major cities across Indonesia. He has been on tour with the 1945 Music Factory crew to Malaysia and Singapore.

2005 was the year that he was voted best DJ of the year by the prestigious paranoia awards by Hard Rock FM (Indonesia), Dade is the youngest DJ to win this
award.

Dade is constantly evolving, in 2007 he came up with the idea and developed a system of a duo DJ performance of decks and effects, so he got side by side with his younger brother DJ Didi the Dub Wave and founded Phatt Brothers. The intention of two music lovers who play one forward pass after the other, back-2-back style, create a set with a variety of sounds where transitions between the styles flow naturally as if it were from a single cast. Phatt Brothers was a breath of fresh air in the dance scene in Indonesia bringing a different kind of sound and performance.

Phatt Brothers won the REDMA (Ravelex Electronic Dance Music Award) awards in 2008 for the Best Duo or Group category and won the Best DJ of the Year by Paranioa awards.
2009 promises many more to come from DJ Dade, for his love and passion for music. In the words of the legendary Kraftwerk “Music Non Stop”. Truer words have never been spoken!
